Academic Requirements

English Language Requirements
Both Programmes are open to applicants anywhere in the world. We may ask applicants to provide a recognised English language qualification, dependent upon their nationality and where they have studied/worked previously.
The requirement is an IELTS (Academic) Test with an overall score of at least 6.5, and a minimum of 6.0 in each element of the test. We will also consider other English language qualifications. If their score is below our requirements, they may be eligible for one of Lancaster University's pre-sessional English language programmes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to have completed a degree in Econometrics?

It is not necessary to have completed a degree in Econometrics, but an undergraduate degree in a related scientific discipline is required. If unsure please reach out to enquire whether you have the prerequisite qualifications.

Is it possible to apply to the MSc AE take the 3 core modules which are common to both programme's and transfer to DS&E when enrolled?

Credits can be carried over and an exemption can be granted in such cases.

When a student passes a module which is part of a programme then it doesn't matter whether she/he was actually enrolled in a different programme that includes the same modules.

However…

The Student Registry strongly advised that student should sign up for their preferred programme from the start.
